A guide to chest imaging for COVID-19

COVID-19, the diseased caused by infection with the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, has led to major changes in the provision of healthcare in both primary and secondary health settings. Leading into the Australian winter and the flu season, it is important to recognise the signs of COVID-19 clinically, and for practitioners it is important to recognise the radiological signs of viral infection.

All Things Cardiac - Investigating and treating medical conditions

Dr Ben Costello is a cardiologist at The Alfred and St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne and at Alice Springs Hospital in the Northern Territory. He reports on calcium scores and cardiac CT angiography at each of these hospitals as well as at I-MED Radiology in East Melbourne.  He is qualified as a Level B specialist in Cardiac CT, the highest level of qualification in Australia.

Holly Tivendale is the Nuclear Medicine Coordinator for six clinics within the Central Region of I-MED Radiology. Holly has worked extensively in both the private and public sector for over 20 years in both nuclear medicine and PET.
She managed the development of the first PET/CT centre at I-MED and was responsible for the expansion of a new nuclear medicine service at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
