Dr Alexandra Burghard

Dr Burghard is a general radiologist with a special interest in breast imaging and breast procedures. She graduated from Rhenish Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn and completed her radiology training across several hospitals in Germany. Dr Burghard has been a member of the German Medical Association since 2001 and a RANZCR Fellow since 2016.

After relocating to New Zealand in 2012, Dr Burghard worked at Hutt Valley District Health Board (HVDHB) and BreastScreen Central, before moving to Australia in 2019.

Dr Burghard has been working with I-MED since 2019 and is currently the Clinical Director at I-MED Radiology, Hervey Bay and Maryborough. In this role, she is committed to offering high-quality radiology services to the Wide Bay community. She is also actively involved with BreastScreen Queensland, delivering essential breast cancer screening services to women in regional communities.
