How the NLCSP will work

Screening services will begin for eligible people in July 2025. All patients who meet the eligibility criteria will have their low dose computed tomography (CT) screening bulk billed. You will need to visit your GP to obtain a dedicated referral for a low-dose CT scan, your GP may charge an out-of-pocket fee for the consultation.

I-MED Radiology, as Australia's largest provider of imaging services, is offering low-dose CT screening across our CT-enabled clinics nationwide.

Our radiology staff are highly skilled technicians who are licensed to operate our modern diagnostic imaging equipment. They also actively participate in ongoing training and a process of continuous improvement to ensure our high safety and quality standards are maintained.

We have implemented a radiation-dose-monitoring software solution (DOSE) in more than 200 CT systems across our Network. This innovative software is designed to optimise how we monitor, evaluate and report radiation doses — reinforcing our commitment to patient safety, data accuracy and clinical excellence. I-MED is proud to be the first to adopt Qaelum’s cutting-edge technology, DOSE, in the Australasian region.
