Breast scans

Breast health is a top priority, and our advanced imaging services are designed to provide accurate and timely diagnoses. Our comprehensive breast imaging services include:

  • Mammography: The gold standard for early detection of breast cancer, our state-of-the-art digital mammography provides clear, detailed images to detect even the smallest abnormalities. 3D Mammography (Tomosynthesis) significantly improves cancer detection and helps reduce call-backs and unnecessary follow up tests. Tomosynthesis can provide a 40% increase in the detection of invasive breast cancers compared to conventional mammography.
  • Breast ultrasound: Often used alongside mammography, ultrasound offers detailed images of breast tissue, particularly useful in evaluating dense breasts or specific areas of concern. Recommended for women under 35 years. Ultrasound is more sensitive in the detection of cancer in young women.
  • Breast MRI: May be recommended for patients at higher risk or with complex cases, breast MRI offers a highly sensitive imaging technique that provides a comprehensive view of breast tissue.

The triple test: Combining clinical examination, imaging (mammography and ultrasound), and needle biopsy, the Triple Test offers the highest level of diagnostic accuracy for breast cancer detection.

Monitoring bone health

Bone density scans, or DEXA scans, are essential for assessing the risk of osteoporosis, especially in postmenopausal women. This quick, non-invasive test measures bone mineral density, helping to identify bone loss early and guide treatment decisions to prevent fractures.

Gynaecological scans

Gynaecological ultrasound is a crucial tool in assessing the health of the female reproductive system. Our services include:

  • Pelvic ultrasound: Used to examine the uterus, ovaries, and other pelvic organs. This scan is key in diagnosing conditions such as fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis.
  • Transvaginal ultrasound: Offering a closer view of the reproductive organs, this scan is particularly useful in early pregnancy, infertility assessments, and evaluating pelvic pain or abnormal bleeding.

Obstetric scans

Our obstetric ultrasound services support women through every stage of pregnancy, offering:

  • Early pregnancy scans: Confirming pregnancy, dating, and assessing early development.
  • Nuchal translucency scans: Screening for chromosomal abnormalities in the first trimester.
  • Anatomy scans: Detailed imaging of the baby’s anatomy in the second trimester to ensure normal development.
  • Growth scans: Monitoring the baby's growth and well-being in the later stages of pregnancy.

Our women's imaging services are designed with care, compassion, and expertise, ensuring that every woman receives the highest standard of care at every stage of her life.
