Dr Tan obtained her basic medical degree from the National University of Malaysia in 1995 and Master of Radiology from University Malaya in 2002. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal College of Radiologists in United Kingdom in the same year. She joined the National University of Malaysia as a lecturer and consultant radiologist upon graduation and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008. She has worked in Nottingham University Hospitals in the UK for 15 months in 2005-2006, to explore her interest in the subspecialty of Musculoskeletal Radiology.In 2010, she joined private practice in Malaysia, and in 2015 she moved to Australia and joined I-MED Radiology.
