I-MED Radiology Network is pleased to announce that Professor the Hon Greg Hunt will shortly join the I-MED Board as a Non-Executive Director.

Professor Hunt brings extensive experience across Australia’s health system, public policy, innovation and medical research, including serving as Australia’s Minister for Health from 2017 to 2022 and, previously, as Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science.

His appointment comes as I-MED enters its next phase of growth and continues to invest in its clinical workforce, network and technology to improve access to high-quality diagnostic imaging and deliver better outcomes for patients.

I-MED Chair George Savvides said Professor Hunt’s experience would bring an important perspective to the Board.

“Greg has a deep understanding of the Australian healthcare landscape and a longstanding commitment to innovation, medical research and better health outcomes.

His experience across healthcare, public policy and innovation will be valuable as I-MED continues to grow, invest responsibly in new technologies and strengthen the role diagnostic imaging plays in supporting patients and the broader health system.”

Professor Hunt said he was looking forward to joining the I-MED Board.

“Diagnostic imaging plays a critical role in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, and I-MED has an important role in Australia’s healthcare system.

I am delighted to be joining the Board and look forward to supporting I-MED as it continues to invest in its clinical workforce, technology and innovation, and in improving access to high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients across Australia.”

Professor Hunt is currently Chair of the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health Advisory Council at Monash University and holds a number of roles across health, research and innovation including as Honorary Enterprise Professor at the University of Melbourne and Professor of Practice at University College London.

His appointment will further strengthen the I-MED Board as the organisation continues its focus on clinical excellence, responsible innovation and improving access to diagnostic imaging services across Australia.
