I-MED Radiology Network appoints new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to its Board

I-MED Radiology Network announced today the appointment of its new non-executive Chairperson, George Savvides AM, and non-executive Vice Chairperson, Pattie Beerens.
Both appointments are effective immediately. Together, Mr Savvides and Ms Beerens will bring over 50 years’ combined deep leadership experience, as well as in-depth knowledge of the healthcare sector, to the company’s Board of Directors.
Mr Savvides has 30 years’ experience in Chief Executive roles within the ANZ healthcare sector, including 14 years at the head of Medibank. Ms Beerens brings more than 20 years’ experience in Australia’s healthcare sector and has held a number of senior executive roles in the industry, including as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Diagnostic Imaging Association.

About the new board members
George Savvides AM joins the I-MED Board as Chairperson on 9 September 2022. He has 30 years’ experience in Chief Executive roles within the ANZ health care sector, including 14 years at the head of Medibank during which time the organisation was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
George is the current Chair of SBS, and a Non-Executive Director of IAG, Ryman Healthcare and Buildxact.
His previous board roles include Chair of World Vision Australia, Next Science Ltd and Macquarie University Hospital. In addition, he is the former CEO of Sigma Pharmaceuticals, and Managing Director of Smith & Nephew ANZ.
George has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of NSW, and an MBA from UTS.
Pattie Beerens joins the I-MED Board as Vice Chairperson on 9 September 2022. With over 20 years’ experience in Australia’s health care sector, she has held a number of senior executive roles in the industry.
Pattie is the former Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Diagnostic Imaging Association which represents private radiology practices across Australia, working to ensure diagnostic imaging remains accessible, affordable, and safe for all Australians. She is also the former Executive Director of the National Pharmaceutical Services Association and led the establishment of the Community Service Obligation (a Federal Government initiative), which continues to underpin timely patient access to medicines across rural Australia.
Pattie has degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Melbourne.
