Dr Hawraa Al-Naqshabandi

Dr Hawraa Al-Naqshabandi is a breast radiologist working at The Mater Hospital in Sydney.

Dr Al-Naqshabandi brings more than fifteen years of experience working as a radiologist across Australia and Iraq, with subspecialty expertise in breast imaging and interventional procedures. Before moving to Australia, she worked as a breast radiologist at a major oncology hospital in Baghdad.

Dr Al-Naqshabandi subsequently completed a breast imaging fellowship at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) in 2026. She specialises in mammography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI, as well as image guided biopsies, vacuum assisted procedures and pre-operative localisation. Alongside breast imaging, Dr Al-Naqshabandi reports on general radiology cases and performs a range of interventional procedures.

Dr Al-Naqshabandi is passionate about breast cancer education, patient-centred care and training the next generation of radiologists in advanced breast imaging.
