About Dr Rob Parkinson
Dr Rob Parkinson specialises in interventional radiology and uro-radiology. After graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School, Dr Parkinson completed his radiology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He then undertook fellowship training in interventional radiology and uro-radiology at University College Hospital and Middlesex Hospital in London and at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. Dr Parkinson provides a comprehensive range of interventional radiology procedures including vascular access, vascular intervention, biliary intervention, image guided biopsies and injections. He has expertise in varicocoele embolisation and has published in the field of radio-frequency ablation of renal tumours. Dr Parkinson has recently been instrumental in the development of the prostate MRI service at Wesley Medical Imaging, establishing close ties with an internationally regarded centre in the Netherlands. Dr Parkinson has been based at the Wesley since 2005 and is available for patient consultations regarding image-guided therapies by referral.
