Dr Thashila Gunawardana

Dr Thashila Gunawardana is an Australian-trained Radiologist, who underwent her general radiology training in Perth, under the Western Australian Radiology Training network (W.A.R.T.) at Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Fiona Stanely Hospital and Perth Children's Hospital. She underwent a further fellowship training in Breast Radiology and Body-Imaging at Royal Perth Hospital as well as a visiting fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York, NY, USA. 

Dr Gunawardana is trained in all aspects of diagnostic and general interventional radiology, including musculoskeletal injections, nerve root injections and superficial organ biopsies. In addition, Dr Gunawardana is a specialist Breast Radiologist with special training in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional breast radiology, including ultrasound guided, stereotactic guided and MRI guided breast biopsies, as well as hook-wire and seed lesion localisation for surgical work-up.   

Dr Gunawardana has taken on several roles in Clinical Governance, having previously served on the Clinical Council (H.I.S.), Quality Assurance teams, MRI safety team and is currently working on several projects in expanding Breast Services within the local network branches in Western Australia.
