I-MED Radiology Perth would like to introduce you to our new Clinical Director, Dr Melinda Jane Morris.

A local to Perth, Dr Morris is well-respected within the radiology community - not only for her general radiology consultancy and interventional work, but for her subspecialty qualifications in paediatrics, cardiac and neuroradiology.

We asked Dr Morris a few questions about working with I-MED and what it means for our referrers.

Question: Why did you choose radiology as a specialty?

I like to solve conundrums and diagnostic imaging is often key, if it can’t provide the initial answer, it can guide you as to where to go next.

What is the best thing about being a radiologist?

The satisfaction of being part of a team that can provide the answers as to why the patient is unwell. It’s also very rewarding to undertake an interventional injection that provides the patient relief. I am always keen to know just how the patient has gotten on following one of my injections.

What would you say has been the greatest technological advancement that you have seen in your career as a radiologist?

There are many, but one would have to be the clarity in imaging that we can obtain of a beating heart for instance. Another would be the advancement of interventional techniques & procedures in the diagnosis and management of a variety of conditions.

What are you looking forward to the most while working with I-MED Radiology Perth?

Meeting and engaging with all the referrers, happy to provide advice and radiology consultation over the phone, and hopefully get to meet many of them face to face. I want the referrers to engage and interact not only with me, but the whole team of radiologists at I-MED. I am happy to be contacted via email or on my mobile.
