About Dr Debra Meerkotter

After completing her undergraduate and post graduate training at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1998, Dr Meerkotter worked at the Oxford Road Institute of Mammography and Bone Densitometry in Johannesburg. Here she was mentored by the highly respected Dr Seider and was exposed to all aspects of breast pathology as part of a dedicated team of surgeons, oncologists and radiotherapists.Dr Meerkotter has been working predominantly in breast imaging since 2002 and has worked in both screening and diagnostic mammography in private and public settings. She has several articles in radiology journals, her most recent publication being “Imaging of Tuberculosis of the breast: 21 cases and a review of the literature” (JMIRO).Apart from leading I-MED Tasmania’s breast imaging service, Dr Meerkotter also works for BreastScreen Tasmania and is a regular contributor to the Northern Breast Alliance group.
