About Dr Ronald Shnier

Dr Ronald Shnier is the Chief Medical Officer of the I-MED Radiology Network. He is a general radiologist with over twenty-six years of experience in MRI Imaging. He has worked previously as a staff specialist across Public Hospitals as well as independent and private radiology practices throughout his career.

Dr Shnier undertook his radiology training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) and in 1991, undertook a musculoskeletal fellowship at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr Shnier has served as a staff specialist at RPAH and later joined the Sydney Imaging Group (SIG) at the end of 1993 to establish and run MRI services. After SIG was acquired by HCOA, then Mayne and later Symbion, Dr Shnier became the National Director of Radiology and the General Manager of Diagnostic Services. He subsequently became a partner of the Southern Radiology group in 2009 and later, it’s CEO. He officially joined the I-MED Radiology in 2017.

Throughout his career Dr Shnier specialised in musculoskeletal and prostate MRI and he continues to publish research papers in the various roles of MRI in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.In addition to his clinical interests, Dr Shnier has contributed to scholarly research in Radiology. He has also published widely on the role of MRI Imaging in inflammatory arthritis as well as prostate cancer. 

Dr Shnier is currently the Vice President (as well as past President) of Australian Diagnostic Imaging Association (ADIA). 

Dr Shnier joined the I-MED Board as the Radiologist Director on 20 June 2019.
