About Professor Rick McLean

Prof Rick McLean is a consultant physician in both general medicine and nuclear medicine. He joined I-MED Radiology in 2008, as a nuclear medicine specialist. After graduating from the University of Sydney in 1978, Rick trained through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, completing subspecialty training in nuclear medicine and undertaking a fellowship year at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, Canada. In 2001, Prof McLean set up and ran the University of Sydney’s rural clinical school in Dubbo until 2006. After that, he worked as Principal Medical Adviser in Medical Education Workforce in the Department of Health and Ageing in Canberra until 2008. He has also been an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Physicians in nuclear medicine (including as its president) and in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
