Size of our network
With more than 240 clinics across metropolitan, rural and regional Australia, I-MED is the largest medical imaging network in the country. We are strengthened by our diverse spread of sub-specialty radiologists, and where possible can use this to deliver vital skills to each corner of the network remotely. Locally, our clinics are tailored to meet the needs of the surrounding community and can work within a smaller network of local clinics to service the needs of many. Find a clinic here.
How you can refer to I-MED
We know our referrers look for the most convenient and efficient ways to refer their patients for radiology services. I-MED offers a variety of referral methods, including:
Electronic referrals (e-Referrals)
e-Referrals are a complete digital solution that will support any contactless or virtual services you are providing and enable you to streamline your medical imaging requests. They have also proven to speed up the booking process, prompting patients to book their appointments 4 times faster. Head here to learn more and set up e-Referrals in your practice. I-MED supports the integration of this system in both Medical Director and Best Practice software.
Image request RTF templates
Use I-MED Radiology referral templates if you like to complete your I-MED image request while working within your practice management software. Simply download the appropriate rich text file (RTF) template file and save it to your PMS.
Order hard-copy referral pads
If you prefer to use hard-copy referral pads, simply complete the order form on our website under your relevant state/territory. Once ready, they will be sent to your nominated address.
Editable PDF referrals
We also have several editable PDF referrals for you to save to your desktop to enable quick and easy image requests. These PDFs may also be useful when you are away from your practice management software or internet connection.
Access images & reports with I-MED Online
I-MED Online* is a seamless and intuitive platform designed for practitioners to effortlessly access their patient images, reports, break glass, send e-Referrals, and more.
The I-MED Online platform was built to meet the needs of our referrers. I-MED is committed to listening to user feedback and ensuring the platform aligns seamlessly with their requirements. In 2022, the I-MED Online underwent a significant update, introducing a fresh look and enhancing user functionality for more intuitive access to I-MED patient results. In November 2023, several product enhancements were introduced, shaped by the invaluable feedback provided by users and practitioners.

The convenience of online patient bookings
Your patients can arrange their radiology appointments at any hour of the day using the I-MED online booking portal. It's convenient and allows them to manage their own healthcare journeys.
The system allow patients to:
- Select their preferred I-MED clinic location
- Adjust filters to find the ‘soonest’ or ‘closest’ appointment
- Cancel or reschedule if things change
- Complete relevant forms prior to attendance to save time.
